The Athens Recreation Association is a non-profit cooperative community swimming pool welcoming all for health, recreation, and growth. Founded in 1969 by a group of local families the Pool is independent of the local government and relies on the support of members and the generosity of donors. Membership is open to all, while the pool’s beautiful location is in the village of Athens, members hail from many surrounding communities.
Facilities
The “Big Pool” is about 25 yds long and runs from 3 ft – 10 ft deep with a diving board
The “Kiddie/Little Pool” is 1 ft – 3 ft deep
For the safety of our members and guests, children over 8 yrs of age are not allowed in the Kiddie Pool
Life jackets, floats, goggles that cover the nose, snorkel masks, nose plugs, flippers, water shoes, beach/hand/foot balls, and noodles are strictly forbidden in the big pool
Hours
The pool is open 10am – 7pm every day (weather permitting); lap swim is 10am-12pm, with exceptions due to recreation programs and weather
Wednesday is Members Only Day.
Season runs from the last Saturday in June thru Labor Day
Membership and Day Passes
Membership applications are open!
Guests are permitted to use the Pool for a Daily fee (General: $15; $10 if you are accompanied by a member). Guest passes are LIMITED TO 5 VISITS PER SEASON. Guest occupancy may be limited.





Pool Code of Conduct
- Only Members and their guest are permitted to use the swimming pools
- All Members must sign in before entering the dressing room or pool area
- No child under 9 years of age will be permitted to the pool area unless accompanied by a person of 18 years or older
- Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children and guests, including understanding and abiding by the Pool Rules and Regulations.
- Gates must remain closed at all times
- Climbing fences is prohibited
- All guests must register with the cashier, members are responsible for their guests
- Rest rooms are to be used, not the pool
- All members and their guests are required to shower before entering the pool for the first time each day
- Members and their guest are not to leave articles of clothing, clothing bags, paper bags, or shoes laying around the dressing rooms or pool deck. Please keep your items in a location out of the way
- No flips or back dives off of pool coping
- No one allowed in pool unless there is a lifeguard on duty
- Only one person on the diving board at a time
- Persons wearing bandages or having open wounds are not allowed in the pool
- All accidents minor or serious must be reported immediately to the lifeguard or cashier. A basic first aid kit is available, as well as an emergency phone in the snack bar
- All containers used for drinking or eating must be made from unbreakable material
- ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED ON PREMISES
- No foul language
- Absolutely no smoking or vaping allowed anywhere other than parking lot. Violators may be subject to membership suspension
- No running on pool deck
- No horseplay, pushing, or dunking
- No street clothes allowed in pools
- All children yet to be toilet trained are to wear appropriately sized swim diaper
